Two candidates file intent to run for Jamestown Mayor

Two candidates have filed with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance to run for Jamestown Mayor next year.

City Councilman Dwight Richards and Jamestown resident Brian Young have filed paperwork to run for mayor in the General Election in November 2026.

So far, only Richards and Young have filed paperwork with the registry to seek the office of Jamestown Mayor.

Filing with the Registry of Election Finance does not mean a candidate has officially filed to run for office. Filing with the registry helps enforce legal requirements for campaign fundraising, including contribution limits.

Candidates running for office next year can begin officially filing on November 5.
