State Representative Josh Branscum is highlighting what he says is a historic investment in Kentucky’s transportation system approved during this year’s legislative session.
Branscum says House Bill 502 provides a $4.2 billion six-year road plan to fund highway improvements, bridge repairs and major transportation projects across the Commonwealth. The plan also continues using the state’s data-driven SHIFT process to prioritize projects based on safety, traffic, economic impact and community needs.
He also points to House Bill 501, which increases funding for the Local Assistance Road Program to more than $90 million over the next two years, allowing cities and counties to improve more local roads before they fall into poor condition. The measure also includes $25 million each year for the County and City Bridge Improvement Program.
Branscum says the investments reflect a commitment to safer roads, stronger communities and a transportation system designed to support Kentucky’s future.
