The National Weather Service has upgraded the tornado that struck Pulaski and Laurel counties Friday night to an EF-4.
The tornado began in Russell County, where it was classified as an EF-3 and picked up speed in Pulaski and Laurel counties.
The National Weather Service said the tornado reached peak speed of around 170 miles per hour.
The tornado was almost one mile wide, and was on the ground for nearly 56 miles.
