The Russell County Board of Education approved a new salary schedule last night that will provide a minimum 6 percent raise for employees of the school district.
Superintendent Michael Ford noted that over the last two years, the board has approved a combined 10 percent in pay increases.
The new salary schedule also includes extra salary increases for those employees that have been with the school district for many years.
The new salary schedule passed with a unanimous vote. Board member Gerald Murray made the motion to approve the new salary schedule, which was seconded by board member Eric Selby.
