The tornado Friday night hit close to home for Eli Volunteer Fire Department Chief Marty Kazsuk.
Kazsuk told WJRS News he was at home when the tornado came through, not far from his home.
With several neighbors in need, Kazsuk and members of the Eli Fire Department began making their way out to help those in need.
They were joined by other fire departments and first responders from across the community. Kazsuk commended the dedication of local first responders following the tornado.
Kazsuk said he was stunned by the damage from the tornado.
Kazsuk said the Eli Fire Department members remain available to assist those in need from this weekend’s storms.
