Russell Springs Man Arrested After Alleged Animal Abuse in Pulaski County

A Russell Springs man is facing felony animal cruelty charges after deputies say he brutally abused a cat during a domestic dispute.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Zachary Rollins was arrested Saturday after deputies responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on Skyview Drive in Somerset. Upon arrival, deputies were presented with disturbing photos and video evidence allegedly showing Rollins biting the ears off a cat.

Investigators say Rollins admitted to the act in a message to a family member, claiming he bit the cat because it had bitten him first.

Rollins was taken into custody and charged with torture of a dog or cat, a Class D felony in Kentucky. He was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center.
