Kentucky State Police Post 15, which covers Russell County, has added a new trooper.
Somerset native Sean Sweat will join Post 15 after recently graduating from the state police academy.
Sweat is one of 33 graduates from the latest training class, which began last November.
Training lasts for 24 weeks and includes more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study.
