The murder trial for a man charged with murder in a fatal wreck in January 2023 is set to begin in August.
25-year-old Alex Lopez Entzin is set to appear for trial in Russell Circuit Court beginning August 11 on charges including murder, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, speeding 14 miles per hour over the limit, and other charges.
The trial had to be delayed to August due to needing an interpreter.
The charges against Entzin stem from a fatal accident on North Highway 127 near Dollar General back in January 2023. State Police say Entzin was traveling south on Highway 127 in a 2013 Ford Escape when he met a 2022 GMC Terrain traveling north operated by 75-year-old Wanda Wethington of Russell Springs.
The two vehicles collided head-on, and Wethington was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s Office.
A pre-trial conference is set to take place in June.
