K-9 that served Russell County Sheriff’s Office set to retire

A K-9 that served the Russell County Sheriff’s Office is set to retire May 1.

K-9 Matt, who has served both the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and Columbia Police Department, will soon retire. K-9 Matt has worked with Columbia Chief of Police and former Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy Evan Burton since 2016.

K-9 Matt played a significate role in numerous arrest for Kentucky law enforcement agencies, including apprehending wanted individuals and drug trafficking offenders.
