GIRLS SOCCER: Lady Lakers Continue Dominant Season With 8–0 Win

The Russell County Lady Laker soccer team remains undefeated following a dominant performance Monday evening.

The varsity Lady Lakers shut out Wayne County 8–0, improving their season record to 10–0. Russell County’s defense has allowed only five goals through its first 10 matches.

Addison Coffey led the offense with four goals, while Madison Bennett scored twice. Mercedez Sanchez and Carly Shearer added one goal each.

Shearer recorded two assists, Sanchez added one and goalkeeper Bella Blakey finished with two saves to preserve the shutout.

The Lady Laker junior varsity team also blanked Wayne County, winning 3–0.

Makenzie Bennett scored twice, Ava McFarland added a goal and goalkeeper Vonzie Hill recorded six saves.
