Frigid temperatures cause area schools to close

Frigid temperatures across the Lake Cumberland area caused several schools to close today.

In-person classes were closed in Russell, Adair, Casey, Pulaski and Wayne counties with the Cold Weather Advisory still in effect for the area and temperatures hovering around 0 degrees.

Schools are utilizing non-traditional instruction today with in-person classes cancelled.

The Cold Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service for the area is set to expire at 9 this morning.
