Russell County Hospital reported a small net gain for the first quarter of its fiscal year as work continues on the hospital’s expansion.
At Tuesday’s Board of Directors meeting, CEO Scott Thompson said crews could pour the concrete slab for the new addition later this week, weather permitting. The work is scheduled to begin at 3 a.m. and will involve about 40 truckloads of concrete—more than 400 cubic yards in one day. Construction of the walls will follow.
Thompson also told the board that a $1.9 million payment request submitted to Capital One on September 2nd remains pending. He said the request is still within the established 30-day processing period, but wanted board members to be informed in case subcontractors contact them with questions.
The hospital has also set a ribbon-cutting for its new MedSpa at 3:30 p.m. next Tuesday, September 29th, followed by an open house at 4. Its annual First Responders Appreciation Day, held in partnership with New Victory Baptist Church, is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th.
