Jamestown Fire Dept responded to call over the weekend

The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire early Saturday morning.

Fire crews were called out at about 2 a.m. Saturday to a structure fire on Cape Road in southern Russell County.

When units arrived on scene, they found a home on fire. Members from both Jamestown stations responded to the fire, but were hampered by poor road conditions.

12 members of the Jamestown Fire Department were on scene for more than two hours.

The occupant of the home, identified as Brian Antle, received second-degree burns to his hands and arms, and was taken to Russell County Hospital and then to the University of Louisville for treatment of injuries.

The fire is under investigation by the Jamestown Police Department.
