The Laker Football team picked up a big district win over visiting Taylor County last Friday night.
The Lakers came out on top by a score of 35-19, improving to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in district play.
Russell County led 14-7 at halftime, and outscored the Cardinals 21-12 in the second half to secure the victory.
The Lakers face a stiff challenge this week, going on the road for another district matchup against arguably the top team in the state of Kentucky, the Boyle County Rebels. The Lakers will return home the following week for Senior Night and another district contest against the Wayne County Cardinals.
