Child killed in officer-involved crash in Pulaski County

A child was killed in an officer-involved crash in neighboring Pulaski County.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 11, 31-year-old Officer Derrick A. Glover of Nancy was operating his Dodge Durango police vehicle while off-duty on South U.S. 27 at around 11:45 Saturday night when he collided with the rear of a red 196cc off-road motorcycle, operated by a juvenile.

State Police say the juvenile was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, and the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office pronounced the child deceased at the scene. The officer was not injured in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 11.
