In an emotional ceremony during Monday night’s meeting of the Russell County Fiscal Court, members of the late H.M. Bottom’s family were on hand, along with several emergency personnel from across the county, as Judge Executive Gary Robertson and the fiscal court presented the family with a plaque in dedication of the retirement of Bottom’s emergency services number.
Robertson told WJRS News the local 911 board made the decision earlier this year to retire Bottom’s emergency services number, 180.
