A home received heavy smoke damage as a result of a fire on Wednesday morning, according to Jamestown Fire Department Chief Jeff Landers.
The fire department was dispatched just before 11 a.m. Wednesday to a structure fire on the 3000 block of South Highway 619 in Jamestown.
When firefighters arrived on scene at the home being rented by Lela Russell, they found heavy smoke throughout with the fire contained to a utility room in the rear of the home.
The structure received light fire damage, but heavy smoke damage was noted throughout.
The Jamestown Fire Department was assisted on scene by the South Russell Fire Department with the Russell Springs Fire Department on standby.
Firefighters were on scene for just over an hour and a half.
