Lakers homer three times in region tournament win

The Russell County Lakers knocked off Barren County by a score of 12-3 on Saturday, advancing to the region tournament semifinals on Monday.

The Lakers hit three home runs on the day. Aiden Antle, Nathan Lawson, and Maxon Gosser all hit home runs for the Lakers in the win.

Antle and Lawson drove in three runs on the day. Issac Roy, Nick Aaron, and Gosser each drove in two runs.

Cody Luttrell picked up the win on the mound for the Lakers, pitching five innings and giving up three runs on six hits and striking out seven.

Nick Aaron entered in relief, pitching the final two innings, allowing no hits and no runs, striking out one.

The Lakers will face off against the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats on Monday at 7:45 p.m. at Western Kentucky University. Franklin-Simpson defeated Warren East 2-1 in their opening round matchup.
