Kentucky State Police arrested a Wayne County man Sunday afternoon following the execution of a search warrant at a Monticello residence.
Trooper Derrick Dennis obtained a warrant for a home on Elm Street in Monticello after an investigation indicated illegal drugs were allegedly being bought and sold there.
According to officials, Troopers found several baggies containing suspected methamphetamine, other suspected narcotics and drug-trafficking paraphernalia. They also reportedly discovered a radio programmed to receive local law enforcement frequencies.
Stewart J. Foster, 56, of Monticello, was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving two grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use or possession of a police radio and other offenses.
The suspected drugs were sent to the Kentucky State Police laboratory for identification and measurement. The investigation remains ongoing.
