Nearly 50 parents have expressed interest in SB 128 program for RC Schools

Nearly 50 parents have expressed interest in their children participating in the SB 128 program, commonly referred to as the do-over year, for K-12 students.

Data from the school district shows that parents of students in every grade level in the Russell County School District have expressed interest in the program.

With data as recent as Wednesday night, 49 students could participate in the program, although parents have until May 31 to rescind their request.

Of those 49, 20 come from Russell County High School, 9 come from Russell County Middle School, and 20 come from the district’s elementary schools.

WJRS News has the number of responses broken down by grade level. You can find that below. Note that preschool is not included in SB 128.

1st Grade – 3

2nd Grade – 2

3rd Grade – 2

4th Grade – 4

5th Grade – 3

6th Grade – 2

7th Grade – 4

8th Grade – 3

9th Grade – 5

10th Grade – 1

11th Grade – 6

12th Grade – 8
