Alva Woods, age 82, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Sunday, April 18 2021 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, January 24 1939, in Pleasureville, KY.
He was the son of:
Mother – Rebecca Hudson Woods, who has preceded him in death
Father – James Curtis Woods, who has preceded him in death
Survivors also include:
1 Daughter:
• Ruth Givens, of Russell Springs KY
1 Son:
• John Gambill, of Radcliff KY.
1 Step-Daughter:
• Teresa Wilkins, of Eminence KY
He is survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Bailey and Jimmy Gambill, and a sister, Virginia Harrod. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a facilities security officer for the Commonwealth of Kentucky attaining the rank of Captain. He was a member of Coffey’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, April 22 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 2 PM Thursday, April 22 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, KY.
