The Russell County Lady Lakers will travel to Bowling Green High School to take on the Lady Purples tonight in the opening round of the 4th Region Tournament, with the game starting at 7 p.m.
The Lady Lakers enter with a 15-12 record (6-3 in region) to take on the Lady Purples, who enter at 15-10 (9-1 in region), and are viewed as the top team in the 4th Region.
The first round of the region tournaments are being held at the gyms of district winners. The Lady Purples took home the 14th District Championship.
The Lady Purples are led by LynKaylah James (16.6 points, 9.5 rebounds per game) and Meadow Tisdale (14.6 points, 10.2 rebounds per game).
RCHS Athletic Director Michael Carpenter reminds everyone that general admission tickets will go on sale this morning at 8 a.m. To purchase tickets, go through bghssports.com. The school is allotted 200 tickets.
