Monday night was a winning night for the Lady Lakers, with both the volleyball and soccer teams advancing in postseason play.
In district volleyball action, Russell County defeated Metcalfe County three sets to one to earn a spot in Tuesday night’s district championship match.
The Lady Lakers will face the winner of Clinton County and Monroe County at six o’clock Tuesday evening at Cumberland County High School.
On the soccer field, Russell County shut out Logan County 2-0 in the opening round of the 4th Region Tournament at Warren East High School in Bowling Green.
The Lady Lakers advance to face Bowling Green Tuesday night at 7:30, also at Warren East.
