The Russell County Lady Lakers are Sixteenth District volleyball champions!
Russell County defeated Monroe County three sets to one Tuesday night in Burkesville to claim the district title.
The Lady Lakers now advance to the Fourth Region volleyball tournament, which begins Saturday at Bowling Green High School.
A drawing to determine tournament pairings will be held Thursday morning at nine in Bowling Green.
