Jerrie Lou Dunbar, 83, of Russell Springs, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.
Born on May 6, 1943, in Russell County, Kentucky, Jerrie was a daughter of the late Carl and Jenny Montgomery Hurt. Jerrie was a homemaker who loved needlework, crocheting, and sewing; She enjoyed making things for others, often giving what she’d made to those around her.
Jerrie is survived by her sons, Todd Dunbar, of Russell Springs, and Barry Dunbar, of Columbus, Indiana; her three grandchildren, Alex Dunbar, Tracy Dunbar, and Dani Dunbar and one great grandchild, Serenity Dunbar.
In addition to her parents, Jerrie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Dunbar; her son, Mark Dunbar; her brothers, Charles and Benny Hurt; and her sisters, Ila Jean Stearns and Dorlee Lane.
Cremation rites were honored according to the family’s wishes. No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
