A Russell Springs man was airlifted following a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on U.S. 127 North.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:22 p.m. at the intersection of Jericho Road and West Kentucky 76.
According to Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy Heath Tarter, a Chevrolet S-10 driven by J.L. Stargle of Russell Springs was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting to turn left onto West Kentucky 76.
As Stargle began making the turn, his truck was struck in a T-bone collision by a northbound Ford F-250 that was attempting to pass vehicles in the southbound lane.
The Ford was driven by 34-year-old Jose’ Carmona of Nicholasville. His passenger, 38-year-old Cameron Kennedy of Lexington, was also uninjured.
Stargle’s passenger, Diane Radford of Russell Springs, suffered minor injuries. She was treated at the scene by Russell County EMS but declined additional treatment.
Stargle was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by Russell Springs firefighters and EMS personnel. He was transported by ambulance to Russell County Hospital and later airlifted to another medical facility.
