The Russell County High School Mighty Laker Band earned a second-place finish in Class 3A during competition Saturday at the 2026 Lincoln Invitational in LaRue County.
Adair County captured first place in Class 3A, while Breckinridge County finished third. Adair County also received the class awards for best percussion and best color guard.
Anderson County was named Grand Champion of the invitational, with Central Hardin earning Reserve Grand Champion honors.
Anderson County received the overall awards for best percussion and music performance. Adair County earned overall honors for best color guard, visual performance and overall effect.
Congratulations to the Mighty Laker Band on its strong showing at the Lincoln Invitational.
The band will return to competition this coming Saturday at Garrard County High School.
