Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in Fairview Community

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident Monday morning in the Fairview community of Russell County.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston told WJRS NEWS that 39-year-old Curtis Peterson of Russell Springs was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck when it dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, resulting in Peterson losing control of the vehicle, causing it to skid before striking a culvert and then a tree.

Peterson and his passenger, 40-year-old Rosetta Galbreath of Jamestown, were both transported by Russell County EMS to Russell County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Deputy Mike Sinclair cited Peterson for no insurance, and he is scheduled to appear in Russell District Court.

In addition to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and Russell County EMS, the Eli Fire Department also responded to the scene.  Photo credit: Russell County Sheriff’s Department
