The Russell County Public Library will celebrate the grand opening of its new community space, “The Green,” with two days of activities in September.
A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Friday, September 18th, at noon at the Bank of Jamestown Pavilion, located at 78 Esto Road. Local leaders, project organizers and community members are invited to attend.
The celebration continues Saturday, September 19th, beginning with a character meet-and-greet from noon until 2. Yoga at The Green begins at 1:15, followed by a foam party from 2 until 4.
The weekend concludes at 7 Saturday evening with “Sips and Sounds,” featuring live jazz from the Somerset Big Band Combo and a selection of handcrafted, alcohol-free drinks.
Library officials say the new indoor-outdoor space was created to offer additional opportunities for community programs, recreation and enrichment.
