David Bunch, 77, of Sano Community

David Milton Bunch, age 77, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at his residence in the Sano community of Adair County.

He was born on Saturday, August 7, 1948, in Bryan, KY.

He was the son of:


Mother – Lillie Mae York Bunch, who has preceded him in death
Father – Joe Milton Bunch, who has preceded him in death

Survivors also include:

1 Daughter:  Kristal Bunch Mullins (spouse Bill) of Russell Springs KY

1 Son:  Darron Bunch (spouse Tammy) of Columbia KY.

1 Sister:  Shirley Rebennack (spouse Bobby) of Bargersville, IN

Two brothers:  Michael Bunch (spouse Sandy) of Jamestown, KY; Doug Bunch (spouse Carrie) of Russell Springs KY

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Halee Bunch, Isabelle and Gannon Mullins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Arcilla Bunch in 2011 and siblings, Marshall Bunch, Patty Roy, JoAnn Roy.

David served with the Kentucky State Police from 1974 to 1990, being one of the first K-9 handlers with his dog Rabael. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Airforce having served in Vietnam. He was a former Commonwealth Detective and a striper guide on Lake Cumberland. He was affiliated with Fairview Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are: Roger Pierce, Larry Helm, David Knight, Joey Hoover, Dick Scholl and Bobby Sullivan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Free Union Cemetery, Columbia, KY.
