WJRS NEWS has learned that local and state law enforcement officers are involved in a standoff with an individual inside a residence on Basket Factory Road, just off U.S. 127 South in Jamestown.
According to officials, officers with the Jamestown Police Department and Kentucky State Police responded to the residence to serve an arrest warrant. Authorities say the suspect refused to allow officers into the home, leading to the ongoing standoff.
The Jamestown Fire Department has closed U.S. 127 to traffic in the area as law enforcement continues to manage the situation.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route until the roadway is reopened.
