Russell County unemployment among lowest in Lake Cumberland area in November

Russell County’s unemployment rate was among the lowest in the Lake Cumberland area for the month of November.

The Kentucky Center for Statistics reported a 4.1 percent unemployment rate for Russell County in November. The only county in the Lake Cumberland District with a lower unemployment rate was Cumberland County at 4 percent.

Adair County’s unemployment rate was 4.7 percent, Casey County’s 4.8 percent, and Pulaski County’s 4.9 percent.

Clinton County’s unemployment rate was 5.6 percent. and Wayne County’s was 6.1 percent, tied for the highest in the area.

In November 2024, Russell County’s unemployment rate was 5.1 percent. That one-percent decrease from November 2024 to November 2025 was the largest decrease in the Lake Cumberland area.
