Russell County residents who aim to run for political offices on the ballot in the May primary only have about two weeks remaining to file their candidate paperwork.
The deadline to submit candidate paperwork is Friday, January 9. Candidates must turn in paperwork to the County Clerk’s Office. Russell County Clerk Patti Glover is reminding potential candidates that there is a strict cutoff time to turn in their official paperwork.
As we enter the final days of the candidate filing period, Glover said she expects a few more candidates to file paperwork to run for office next year.
