Marcum says sheriff fee pooling ordinance on hold

As of now, the ordinance that would transition the Russell County Sheriff’s Office to a fee pool system is on hold.

After the fiscal court held a first reading of such an ordinance in September, the issue has not been revisited by the fiscal court, and a second reading and vote has not taken place.

Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum was a guest on Community Conversation on WJRS yesterday. He said as of now, the issue remains on hold and there are no plans to bring it up at the next fiscal court meeting on Monday.

The fiscal court will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the Russell County Courthouse.
