Man indicted on rape charges involving minor; 17 others indicted by grand jury

A man was indicted by a Russell County grand jury yesterday on charges including rape and unlawful transaction with a minor. Another man was indicted on a charge of arson first degree.

Luis Felipe Aparicio Silva, age 48, was charged with two counts of  rape first degree involving a minor.

According to the indictment, this involves two different children. One of the cases involved a minor where the incidents occurred multiple times between June 24, 2020 and July 19, 2025. The victim was between the ages of 12 and 17 during this period.

The second rape charge stems from an incident that occurred in 2023 with the victim being under 12 years old, according to the indictment.

Silva is also charged with two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.

Silva was indicted last month by a Casey County grand jury. In Casey County, he was indicted on 20 counts of rape first degree, 20 counts of sodomy first degree, and 40 counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.

He remains lodged in the Casey County Jail.

Also indicted by the grand jury was 45-year-old Brandon M. Gadberry of Russell Springs. Gadberry is charged with arson first degree. According to the indictment, on September 30, Gadberry started a fire at a building that was inhabited or occupied.

Gadberry was also indicted on charged of wanton endangerment first degree, terroristic threatening third degree, alcohol intoxication, fleeing or evading police – 3rd degree, and persistent felony offender – 1st degree.

Others indicted by the grand jury were:

Joy Patterson, age 45, of Russell Springs, charged with seven counts of wanton endangerment first degree. According to the indictment, Patterson allegedly pointed a loaded handgun at or in the direction of multiple people. She was also charged with two counts of assault fourth degree.

Jessica L. McBeath, age 31, of Russell Springs charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating on a suspended license.

Austin T. Dalton, age 20, of Shepherdsville, charged with fleeing or evading police first degree, three wanton endangerment first degree, speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, reckless driving, and improper passing.

Dennis Franklin, age 63, of Russell Springs, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thaddeus E. Reisback, age 48, of Russell Springs, charged with driving under the influence – fourth or more offense, operating on a suspended license, and persistent felony offender – 2nd degree.

Charles Florio, age 27, of Russell Springs, charged with fleeing or evading police first degree, driving under the influence – 2nd offense, driving on a DUI-suspended license, reckless driving, persistent felony offender – 2nd degree, and multiple other traffic violations.

Tony S. Scales, age 50, of Russell Springs, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and traffic violations.

Shawnta R. Wilson, age 42, of Elizabethtown, charged with possession of a controlled substance – 1st degree, prescription controlled substance not in the proper container, illegal possession of a legend drug, and traffic violations.

Nickolas Houghtaling, age 20, of Pennsylvania, charged with fleeing or evading police – 2nd degree and custodial interference.

Katie N. Spears, age 34, of Russell Springs, charged with possession of methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana.

Jeremy M. Holmes, age 44, of Somerset, charged with possession of methamphetamine – second offense.

Mario Villela, age 46, of Jamestown, charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds.

Ronald T. Langbauer, Jr., age 56, and Shana Langbauer, age 19, both of Jamestown, charged with trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds, possession of a controlled substance – 2nd degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

David J. Hodge, age 44, of Russell Springs, charged with fleeing or evading police first degree, wanton endangerment first degree, and multiple traffic violations.

Wendy Polston, age 47, of Russell Springs, charged with two counts of bail jumping first degree.

Lloyd Chapman, age 34, of Jabez, charged with bail jumping first degree.
