The Kentucky Department of Education released the assessment results from last school year for schools across Kentucky, including Russell County.
The state classifies schools into five color-based categories based on the scores from last year combined with the change from the year prior.
Based on the color categories, blue is the highest rating, followed by green, yellow, orange, and then red being the lowest rating.
Russell Springs Elementary and Russell County Middle School earned green ratings, while Russell County High School, Jamestown Elementary and Salem Elementary earned yellow ratings .
Compared to the year prior, Russell Springs Elementary saw its rating change from blue to green. Russell County High School and Jamestown Elementary went from green to yellow. Russell County Middle School jumped from yellow to green and Salem Elementary stayed the same.
