“She’s unlike anyone. Really strong, great guard. She can do whatever you need her to do. A really, really good player,” Kentucky senior forward Teonni Key said.
The 6-foot-1 Obi can overpower guards to get to the basket and also handle contact from bigger players.
“If Jordan’s coming at me, I’m moving out the way,” UK point guard Tonie Morgan said. “She is super, super sweet off the court but on the court I do not want to go against her. She’s gonna make your work. She can play one through five on defense. She’s just a versatile, big, strong young woman.”
Key prides herself on her rebounding and shot blocking. She doesn’t think Obi can knock her around.
“I’m gonna say no but if you asked her, I’m sure she would probably say yes because she has no fear. We go at it every day. Sometimes it’s all fun, but she’s pretty fearless, and she’s really fit for a player her size,” Key said.
“Her strength is her strength. She’s one of the strongest people we have on the team, and she uses that strength very well but is also a three-level scorer. She’s just a unique player.”
