Russell Springs Police respond to pair of Friday afternoon traffic accidents

Russell Springs Police responded to a pair of traffic accidents Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Maple Street and Lakeway Drive. Police say a 2005 Ford Escape operated by 17-year-old Destiny Choate of Columbia collided with a 2009 Nissan 370Z operated by 29-year-old Zackary Shearer of Russell Springs.

Choate and a passenger in her vehicle were transported to Russell County Hospital, where they were treated and released.

Police responded to another collision at around 4:30 Friday at the intersection of Highway 619 and Highway 127 near Arby’s. Police say a 2005 Toyota Camry operated by 93-year-old Greta Kircher of Fort Thomas collided with a 2017 Ford F150 operated by 17-year-old Tate Reynolds of Russell Springs.

Kircher was transported by EMS to Russell County Hospital, where she was treated and released.
