Both Russell County High School Soccer teams were in district action last night, taking on Monroe County.
The Lady Lakers hosted the Lady Falcons, winning 7-0. Addison Coffey and Marissa Hatchett each scored two goals. Adriana Thomas, Jayde Lawless, and Madison Weisbrodt each scored a goal for Russell County as well. Weisbrodt added two assists in the win.
The Lady Lakers combined for 9 saves in the shutout. Liz Evans had 5 and Jasmine Bennett had 4.
The JV team also won 7-0.
Makenzie Bennett scored 3 goals and Mykaela Bevans scored 2 goals. Mercedez Sanchez and Ava McFarland each added a goal as well.
Andrea Hernandez had 4 saves and Jayde Lawless had 3.
The Lakers went on the road to take on the Falcons, coming away with an 8-0 win.
Xavi Medrano led the Lakers with 3 goals and 2 assists on the night. Luis Lopez had 2 goals. Sebastian Betts-Jimenez, Connor Davidson, and Ulises Gomez each added a goal as well.
Betts-Jimenez added a pair of assists, and Rady Mendez, Jose Lopez, Ulises Gomez, and Brian Melendez each added an assist.
In the JV game, The Lakers won 3-0.
Agustin Valladares, AJ Williams, and Ethan Schuning each scored a goal. Williams, Melendez, and Carlos Lopez each recorded an assist.
The Laker Soccer team is scheduled to take on Barren County on the road Monday. The Lady Lakers are scheduled to take on Lincoln County on the road Monday.
