The Laker Football team improved to 3-1 on the season with a win on the road at Clay County Friday night.
The Lakers defeated the Clay County Tigers by a score of 36-22.
It was another big night for the duo of quarterback Tanner Stringer and wide receiver Kinnett Wills.
Stringer threw for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while rushing for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Wills caught 7 passes for 174 yards on the night, hauling in both touchdown passes and intercepting a pass on defense.
Russell County’s Kamden Garner also had a big night, finishing with two quarterback sacks.
The Lakers look to keep the momentum going this Friday night as they go on the road again, this time to Taylor County for a matchup with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals enter with a record of 4-0 and have allowed just 6 points through 4 games this season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 C.T. Friday.
