Today is the first day of school in Russell County.
Students return to the classroom today to begin the 2025-2026 school year.
As the new school year begins, motorists are reminded to use extra caution in school zones and be on the lookout for school buses, particularly during the morning and afternoon hours.
Parents are also reminded to go over and read information sent home with students during the first days of school.
