Russell County Public Library has big plans for a five-acre development behind the library called The Green.
Library Director Lindsey Westerfield said the space will include a large indoor/outdoor pavilion.
Other plans for the space include walking trails, a sensory play area and more.
The project is funded by a $3 million line item in the 2024 Kentucky Legislative Budget. Additional support also comes from partnerships with Bank of Jamestown and Woodland Farms Foundation.
