Laker Sports Report 5-12

The Russell County Middle School Boys Soccer team captured the 5th District Championship on Friday with a 3-0 win over Taylor County.

On Saturday, the Middle School Lady Laker Softball team edged out Adair County in a close game, winning 8-7. Kinsley Wilson led the team with 3 RBIs, followed by Allie Bailey with 2. Kerrigan Aaron and Tatum Durham each added 1 RBI. The Lady Lakers later fell to Campbellsville Middle School by a score of 9-5.

The Middle School Laker Baseball team also had a strong showing, defeating Adair County 8-4. Keaton Garner recorded 3 RBIs, Layten Loy added 2, and Raylan McAninch and Keenan Stille contributed 1 each. The team returns to action on Tuesday as they take on Campbellsville Middle School.

The Laker Baseball team split a pair of games on Saturday. They defeated Elizabethtown 5-2 earlier in the day. Ayden McGowan had 2 RBIs, while Mayes Gosser and Evan Hutchison each added one. The Lakers later fell to Bowling Green, 8-3.

Russell County is back on the mound this evening, taking on Green County. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Laker Softball team lost to Clinton County on Friday, 17-6. Brylie Hardwick led the team with 3 RBIs, and Camden Cooper added 1. The Lady Lakers are back at home this evening, facing the Marion County Lady Knights. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
