A Wayne County man was arrested Friday afternoon as part of a child sexual abuse material investigation.
Kentucky State Police arrested 25-year-old Jorge Martin Vasquez Jr. following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Vasquez Jr. was located, interviewed, and taken into custody after investigators discovered he had been distributing sexually explicit videos of juveniles through one of his social media accounts.
A search warrant was executed at Vasquez Jr.’s residence on May 9, where equipment believed to have been used in the crimes was seized and sent to the KSP forensic laboratory for examination.
Vasquez Jr. is charged with 20 counts of distributing matter portraying a minor over the age of 12 in a sexual performance, a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. He is also charged with 20 counts of possessing matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance, a Class-C felony punishable by five to ten years in prison, and 20 counts of promoting a minor under the age of 16 in a sexual performance, a Class-B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison.
Vasquez Jr. was lodged in the Wayne County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
