During Monday’s meeting of the Russell County Fiscal Court, the court voted to donate $10,000 to the Eli Volunteer Fire Department as part of a match for a grant that will go toward a new tanker truck.
The measure was approved by a 3-2 vote, with Magistrates Terry Waddell and Zach Wilson voting yes. Magistrates Mickey Garner and Steve Richardson voted no, and Magistrate Larry Skaggs abstained. County Judge-Executive Randy Marcum cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the measure.
