Today is Free Dump Day at the Russell County Landfill.

Free Dump Day will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is for Russell County residents only.

No tires or paint cans will be accepted. Items like refrigerators, stoves, washers, or any metal material can be dropped off at the Recycling Center any day for free.

County officials remind those participating that trucks or trailers hauling garbage to the landfill should be covered.
