Second child involved in crash in Sano community passes away

A second child involved in a single-vehicle crash in the Sano community on Easter has passed away from injuries sustained in the wreck.

12-year-old David King Jr. passed away at the University of Kentucky Hospital early this morning.

The wreck, which occurred at around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 20 on Sano Mount Olive Road, also claimed the life of 14-year-old Skyler Huckaby.

The driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old David C. King of Columbia, was arrested following the collision. He’s charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol, wanton endangerment first degree, assault first degree, reckless driving, and DUI-third offense.

He remains lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
