Laker Baseball wins big over Adair in season opener

The Laker Baseball team had a strong showing in its season opener on the road at Adair County last night, defeating the Indians by a score of 14-1 in five innings.

Ayden McGowan, Mayes Gosser, and Alden Brumley each finished with a pair of hits in the game. Gosser drove in a team-high three runs, including a home run. Brumley, Ben Kemp, and Tanner Stringer each drove in a pair of runs.

Blaine Melton picked up the win on the mound, giving up 1 run on 3 hits over 4 innings while striking out six. Brumley picked up the save, striking out two batters in the final inning.

The JV team won 11-2 over the Indians.

The Lakers are scheduled to play Barren County at home tomorrow.
