A man turned himself in to the Russell County Detention Center Monday morning on a Wayne County warrant for a child abuse charge.
26-year-old Jacob Sumpter turned himself in to the Russell County Detention Center at around 9 this morning on a Wayne County warrant that includes a charge of criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12.
Sumpter was taken into custody by staff at the detention center and was later released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
