12-year-old dies as result of Pulaski County fire

A 12-year-old child from Pulaski County died over the weekend as the result of a house fire in the Ferguson area of Pulaski County.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said the 12-year-old died at the University of Kentucky hospital on Friday from smoke inhalation.

The fire occurred last Tuesday at a home in Ferguson. The 12-year-old was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, then airlifted to UK for treatment.

Two other people were rescued from the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
